When a nominator submits a request for aid, the “Nominate a Student” form is sent to a committee to review the request. Nominations are typically reviewed by the committee every few days. A majority vote of the committee determines if the nomination is awarded. All requests will be responded to as quickly as possible. If the nomination is approved, we will try to deliver the award within a few days. Please note we have no staff and operate on a 100% volunteer basis.
We only issue aid to the nominator, and that aid must be used specifically on the student who was awarded. We will not provide cash under any circumstances.
Only a professional can nominate a student, not parents or families. Our goal is to provide financial assistance when a professional recognizes a need with a student they interact with.
We will provide educational materials for scholars that will help them fulfill a need. At this time, we are not able to provide supplies for full classrooms.
Many students struggle academically because they cannot see clearly. Ensuring students can see is essential to their education and we are happy to help in this area. We partnered with a local optometrist who will conduct an eye exam and provide glasses for students who are approved. When completing the “Nominate a Student” form, please select $200 for the amount.
Many students do not have enough clothing to attend school regularly. In certain circumstances, we will approve up to $200 toward clothing so students can regularly attend school.
If a scholar has earned an opportunity to attend an academic based conference or training, we will consider this request. While there are many educational experiences that will help groups of students, we do not have the funding to support all of these activities.
